Job summary

Amrize is hiring a General Laborer in the Asphalt division. This role supports paving crews with site prep, material handling, and cleanup to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include hand-grading, raking, and assisting operators, while following project plans and safety protocols throughout PG County and Anne Arundel County. A HS diploma and 1+ year asphalt experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1+ years of hands-on Asphalt industry experience.
• Daily travel required with reliable transportation.
• Strong work ethic and proactive attitude toward safety.
• Ability to follow instructions, project plans and safety procedures.
• Physical strength and endurance for outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Assist asphalt crew with loading, unloading, and transporting materials to job sites.
• Perform site preparation, cleanup and support for paving operations.
• Support paver, roller, and lute operators to ensure smooth workflow.
• Hand-grade and rake asphalt under supervision to maintain grade and slope.
• Follow project plans and safety protocols at all times.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean & organized condition.
• Learn operation of heavy paving equipment under supervision for growth.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew to meet daily goals.
• Uphold health, safety, and environmental policies on site.
