Job summary

Sports Basement is seeking dedicated staffers to lead in a fast-paced, outdoor gear retail environment. You will work on the sales floor, manage day-to-day tasks in your zone, and step up for leadership when needed.

You’ll engage customers with enthusiasm, share expert product knowledge, and mentor teammates to uphold the Sports Basement standard. Starting wages vary by location and experience, with seasonal, part-time and full-time openings.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or industry experience.
• Desire to grow into a leadership role.
• Ability to create a WOW experience for every customer.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and staff.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend repeatedly, and stand for most of a shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Train staff when needed to use SB tools to create WOW experiences.
• Be expert in home zone/department and proficient in one other department to provide excellent customer service.
• Assist management in daily operations and ensure tasks are completed.
• Develop department displays and merchandise effectively and safely.
• Lead zone/department trainings and clinics for staff development.
• Monitor store performance and push improvement opportunities.
