Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials, collect data, and support diverse projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sites. This outdoor, hands-on role offers training, mentorship, and a clear path for growth.

Travel may be required up to 70% of the time, and you will work with engineers and project managers to verify quality, safety, and specifications while maintaining accurate documentation and safe operations on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0–3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding work preferred (construction, materials testing, geotechnical).
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing, or ability to obtain within a defined time.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection software.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials.
• Inspect sites and collect samples to verify quality, safety, and compliance with specs.
• Document test results and site observations using standard procedures and reporting tools.
• Operate, maintain, and care for testing equipment and company-provided tools.
• Communicate updates with team members, contractors, and clients.
