Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is seeking Field Data Technicians to join our team for the New York area.

This outdoor role involves collecting detailed data on electric utility and telecom facilities, hiking between spans to capture measurements, and supporting outside plant engineering and fiber-optic projects. Training is provided, with routine overnight travel 1–2 weeks away from home; weekends at home with occasional longer assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical background is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in various weather.
• Ability to read GPS maps and use tablet/digital camera.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data to support engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data including maps, field notes, and images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet, camera, measuring tools, PPE.
• Represent Osmose and our customers in the field.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely and independently.
