Job description

Team Leader - Picking & Shipping

Under the direct supervision of the Outbound Manager/Supervisor, the Team Leader oversees the picking process and shipping operations, providing support to team members as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor conveyor line to ensure smooth product flow without overloads or backlogs.
• Oversee replenishment processes.
• Adjust staffing within the picking environment for adequate coverage.
• Collaborate with other leaders to support the pick module team.
• Assist in managing break and lunch schedules.
• Track attendance, including late starts and early departures.
• Focus on Ecommerce and Retail business operations.
• Trace discrepancies to identify error sources.
• Segregate will call and truck shipments from standard carrier shipments and palletize as needed.
• Track air and overnight shipments to ensure timely dispatch.
• Report process errors or team member issues to supervisors.
• Use pallet jacks and carts to move orders to packing, shipping, and staging areas.
• Train team members on departmental processes.
• Support 5S initiatives and process improvements.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure tools are in place and functional.
• Report unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years in a high-volume distribution facility.
• Knowledge of RF units and WMS systems is preferred.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management.
