Job summary

Volvo Group NA is seeking a First Line Manager – Outbound Operations to lead the Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS. You will oversee inbound/outbound performance, drive safety and efficiency, and manage teams across shifts to ensure on-time deliveries.

You will mentor a diverse workforce, implement lean practices, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to meet customer expectations and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, business, Engineering, or similar field preferred.
• 5 years of experience in distribution/manufacturing or logistics required.
• 2 or more years of management/supervisory experience required.
• Proven skills in developing people; coaching and shaping a high-performing team.
• Strong Knowledge in Lean Principles through formal training preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Owns inbound and/or outbound operational performance focusing on SQDCEP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment, People).
• Drives safety improvements and ergonomics; leads risk analysis and GEMBA walks.
• Ensures timely deliveries to dealers and improves internal lead times.
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and supports budgeting and financial targets.
• Formalizes best practices and shares learnings across networks to raise performance.
• Attracts, hires, and develops talent; builds strong staff relationships.
