Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking an Outbound Contacts Specialist in the CUSTOMER SERVICE division, based at the Raleigh headquarters. The role focuses on accurate, timely, and compliant taxpayer communications, handling complex outbound documents and correspondence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combo.
• Knowledge of basic office software and record-keeping is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Revalidating refund checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Researching and processing returned mail, including correcting issues and resolving delivery concerns.
• Supports account maintenance tasks, including updating addresses and ensuring notices and POA documentation are accurate and properly matched.
• Reviewing notices for accuracy and identifying anomalies before final processing.
• Coordinating daily with the Mail Service Center, including organizing, packaging, and preparing materials for scheduled pickups.
• Processing outbound documents—including tax notices, refund checks, letters, and affidavits.
