Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Scheduler/Planner (Outage) to lead maintenance planning and scheduling for power plant outages. You will draft PMs, coordinate resources, and manage schedules using MS Project/Primavera P6, fostering safety and efficiency across Engineering, Operations, and Contractors.

The role requires strong communication, extensive outage planning experience, and the ability to train others while aligning with company policies and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
• 3+ years of experience with Maximo or CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and coordinate equipment isolation and tagging.
• Communicate and lead in line with company vision and values.
• Develop and draft maintenance plans (PMs) for the plant.
• Schedule outages and weekly maintenance aligning with plant needs.
• Plan resources, including materials, parts, and tools, using MS Project/Excel.
• Interpret manuals and data to develop maintenance plans.
• Track schedule updates, provide daily reports, and report variances.
• Produce schedule variance reports based on KPIs.
• Lead schedule reviews with stakeholders in Engineering, Operations, and Contractors.
• Identify and resolve schedule conflicts and optimize critical path.
• Establish estimates for recurring maintenance work; coordinate with OEMs.
• Assist in developing engineered work packages and training others.
