Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator in Newark, NJ. You will support the Otolaryngology department by coordinating imaging, procedures, and patient prep while ensuring accurate insurance precertifications.

The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurers. Day shift, 35 hours per week, with comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a physician group practice preferred.
• Knowledge of practice management software and web-based tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day surgical and clinical activities, scheduling, and patient care needs under physicians and supervisors.
• Schedule imaging, audiology, testing, procedures, and post-operative appointments.
• Obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information; coordinate precertification/preauthorization.
• Coordinate operative schedules and ensure required paperwork is completed before surgery.
• Explain insurance benefits and assist with pre-operative instructions.
