Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an experienced Security Architecture Engineer II to own the OT security architecture across 160+ generation sites in 27 states. You will design and operate the OT security toolset, define baselines, and partner with SOC to mature detection and response capabilities.

The role emphasizes risk-based vulnerability management, incident containment, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, asset management, and engineering. Travel to field locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related fields or equivalent proven track record in security engineering in complex industrial environments.
• Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity, network engineering, or control systems engineering, including at least 3 years in OT/ICS/SCADA environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage customer relationships.
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Multi-tasking ability with independence and teamwork.
• Self-starter with problem-solving abilities and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Security Architecture & Platform Ownership: Own the OT security toolset architecture, asset visibility, access control, monitoring, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and SIEM integration; define deployment standards across fleet.
• Standards, Baselines & Documentation: Maintain OT security standards, secure baselines, and hardening requirements aligned to ISA/IEC 62443 and CIS benchmarks; maintain reference architectures and diagrams.
• Threat Detection & Monitoring: Onboard OT logs to enterprise monitoring, build OT detection content, and work with SOC on use cases and escalation paths.
• Risk Assessment & Vulnerability Management: Perform OT risk assessments mapping attack paths and coordinate vulnerability remediation with plant teams.
• Incident Resolution: Act as escalation point for OT security incidents, lead investigations and containment plans.
• Access & Third-Party Assurance: Define least-privilege roles, privileged account controls, MFA, and secure remote access; review vendor designs for OT environments.
• Security Requirements in Projects & Procurement: Embed OT security requirements into projects, acquisitions, and contracts; review connectivity proposals.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as OT security point of contact with operations, asset management, project engineering, and SOC.
• Team Enablement & Knowledge Transfer: Produce runbooks, mentor juniors, and deliver hands-on training for site personnel.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Support audits across NERC CIP, TSA directives, NIST 800-82, and ISA/IEC 62443 with evidence and remediation input.
