TheraDynamics is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work in skilled nursing facilities, helping patients regain independence after strokes, fractures, and cardiovascular events. You will design functional interventions and support safe discharge planning, with strong clinical reasoning guiding care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients; develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Maintain realistic productivity expectations and apply sound clinical reasoning to patient plans.
