Job summary

TheraDynamics is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support SNF residents in achieving functional independence. You will work under OTs to implement plans addressing ADLs, cognition, and safety, with collaboration from nursing and therapy teams. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license
• NBCOT certification (or eligible)
• Passion for helping patients regain independence
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients; develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence, and collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Clinical reasoning will be valued, and productivity expectations will be realistic.
