Job summary

MITRE’s Cyber Infrastructure Protection Innovation Center seeks a cyber security engineer to develop and support adversary emulation capabilities for OT/Control Systems. You’ll research, develop, and deploy capabilities in labs and sponsor spaces, collaborating across teams to protect critical infrastructure.

The role emphasizes threat-informed defense, protocol analysis, and software development in Python, with on-site work and opportunities to influence government projects and applied research

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in OT cybersecurity, adversary emulation, protocol analysis, software development, and/or process control.
• Ability to work with others to solve challenging technical problems.
• Experience managing projects.
• Ability to think critically, work in group settings, and be proactive in pursuing research and problem solving.
• Experience with programming in Python.
• Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or for security clearances.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain Top Secret clearance within one year of hire.
• This position requires a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Applying adversary emulation and protocol analysis expertise in support of sponsors.
• Leading and developing adversary emulation capabilities like Caldera for OT.
• Managing small tasks and projects.
• Work shaping and developing strong sponsor relationships.
• Providing mentorship to junior staff.
• Generating ideas for research to improve cybersecurity for critical infrastructure.
