Job summary

Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic is seeking an Osteoporosis Medical Specialist to support providers, gather clinical information, and coordinate imaging and tests. This role focuses on osteoporosis and fragility fracture care within a busy orthopaedic clinic.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Medical Assistant or LPN, capable of patient-centered care, charting in EHR, and coordinating follow-up ضمن provider-guided scope and clinic workflows.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training with medical assisting experience.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license valid for Tennessee.
• Experience in physician practice, outpatient clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
• Experience working with physicians or APPs to support patient care.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation, treatment, and ongoing care for osteoporosis patients.
• Review and track patients meeting osteoporosis or fragility-fracture criteria.
• Document medical history, fracture history, medications, and risk factors.
• Coordinate labs, DEXA scans, referrals, prescriptions, and follow-up visits.
• Provide patient education on osteoporosis, medications, and lifestyle changes.
