Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking an Operations Director to provide executive leadership for the Out-of-School Time portfolio, including Y Learning Centers, Girls on the Run/PACE, and Summer Day Camp. You will guide program quality, safety, and growth while partnering with staff, families and community partners to advance the YMCA mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a nonprofit.
• Four years experience in youth development or related field.
• YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups.
• Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff hiring, training, development, coaching and supervision.
• Direct the OST portfolio and align vision, growth and community impact with the YMCA mission.
• Ensure safety, compliance and high-quality program delivery across locations.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and financial controls with the Finance team.
• Cultivate relationships with school districts, families and funders to boost participation and sustainability.
