YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit seeks an Outdoor Experience Program Manager to oversee Youth Outdoors initiatives, camping, and outdoor education for under-represented youth populations. Responsibilities include logistics, calendar planning, and financial compliance for program costs while connecting the YMCA Outdoor Education curriculum to Teen Achiever elements.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, you will coordinate with camping services, ensure safety, and lead staff and volunteers

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree is preferred, and an Associate's degree is required.
• 2 years working with youth aged 10-17 in educational or recreational settings is required.
• 3-5 years of outdoor recreation experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and provide excellent customer service.
• Proficient swimmer, bicycler, and backpacker.
• Willingness to learn conflict mediation and youth development skills.
• Current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Implement the BOLD & GOLD program, training, recruitment, and evaluation.
• Coordinate programming with YMCA camping services and Metro Youth YMCA, including planning trips and transportation.
• Collaborate with Detroit Outdoors Collaborative on shared initiatives.
• Ensure safe environment, equipment, and supplies per guidelines.
• Facilitate outdoor skills learning during wilderness courses.
• Attend required trainings and meetings; gather testimonials and media.
• Coordinate information with other departments and organizations.
