Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband system designs cost-effectively while upholding Cable One standards. Under supervision, you will prepare detailed drawings using CAD/GIS and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver design services.

The role requires an associate degree with 5+ years in outside plant design or GIS, strong ESRI/Schneider software skills, and solid communications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years in outside plan design, construction, or GIS.
• Proficient with ESRI GIS and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
• Strong cable design knowledge and familiarity with HFC and fiber symbology.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction completes and releases the area.
• Provide complete construction build packets with design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology when required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Responsible for fiber availability and reinforcement planning.
• Design major plant upgrades.
• Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
• Support company values and responsibilities.
