Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband system designs while upholding Cable One standards. You will prepare and support CAD/GIS design files, coordinate with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering, and maintain design/digitizing standards across the network.

The role requires knowledge of HFC and Fiber design, experience with GIS software, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5+ years related experience; outside plan design, construction, or GIS preferred.
• Intermediate GIS apps knowledge: ESRI and Schneider software.
• Understanding of cable design; familiarity with HFC and Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
• Update as-builts as construction completes and releases the area.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
• Support the company's values and duties.
