Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband system designs while upholding Cable One standards and specifications. Under supervision, you’ll prepare design files using CAD and GIS tools and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver complete design packages.

Remote work is possible for qualified candidates in multiple states. Strong GIS/CAD skills, HFC/Fiber design knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects are

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent with at least five years of related experience; telecom outside plant preferred.
• GIS applications (ESRI) and Schneider design software proficiency following Cable One standards.
• Solid cable design knowledge and familiarity with HFC and fiber symbology.
• Experience with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Strong MS Office skills and excellent written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed.
• Provide complete construction build packets with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns.
• Prioritize multiple projects with accuracy.
