Job summary

City of Indianapolis and Marion County is seeking a Safety Compliance Manager to coordinate OSHA policy, training, incident reporting, and risk mitigation across the enterprise. The role requires independent judgment to implement safety policy and manage OSHA claims with guidance to Administrator-Risk.

The position emphasizes leadership, collaboration with department teams, and building a proactive safety culture through data-driven analysis and targeted corrective actions.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour Certification in General Industry with five years’ safety management experience.
• OSHA 501 and 511 Certification.
• Experience with third party administrators of workers' compensation claims.
• Ability to identify hazards and lead corrective actions.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement the enterprise safety policy and audit department actions.
• Provide annual BLS reporting and OSHA 300/301 logs.
• Lead injury prevention initiatives and training across departments.
• Address OSHA findings and mitigate related claims.
• Coordinate environmental hazard mitigation with partners and inspections.
• Lead central safety committee and incident review boards.
