Job summary

City of Indianapolis Marion County seeks an experienced safety professional to coordinate OSHA policy, manage safety programs, and track incidents across the enterprise.

The role requires independent judgment, policy execution to mitigate hazards, and reporting responsibilities to reduce risk and injuries. OSH safety leadership will guide training and compliance across departments, with a focus on continuous improvement and employee well-being.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-hour Certification in General Industry with five (5) years’ experience in Safety Management.
• OSHA 501 and 511 Certification.
• Experience with Third Party Administrators of Workers Compensation Claims.
• Proven ability to mitigate and correct job hazards and maintain a positive working relationship with impacted workforce.

Responsibilities

• Manages and implements the enterprise’s safety policy and audits the actions of departments and agencies.
• Provides annual reporting to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) utilizing online resources to build OSHA 300 and 301 logs.
• Leads injury prevention initiatives and coordinates with departments to implement training and safety measures.
