Job summary

The Industrial Commission of Arizona is seeking a Compliance Safety Health Supervisor to lead the daily activities of State Occupational Safety enforcement, training, and consultative services for public and private establishments. This role involves supervising staff, evaluating performance, and ensuring inspections meet federal and state standards.

Qualifications

Minimum four years of experience identifying, preventing, or eliminating safety and health hazards in government or private sector workplaces.
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or industrial safety and two years of experience; supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations, and state plans; proficient in reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

Supervises a Phoenix safety and health compliance section.
Evaluates and trains compliance officers in the office and in the field.
Reviews and approves inspection files for completeness and accuracy.
Conduct enforcement inspections per applicable OSHA standards and policies.
Write complete and accurate inspection reports and maintain equipment inventories.
Attend safety trainings and contribute to agency safety initiatives.
