Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) seeks an Occupational Safety Consultant 4 to provide professional safety guidance to management and staff covering Western Arizona operations. The role includes travel across Northwest and Southwest PDO Districts and may entail remote work within Arizona based on business needs.

The position requires strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigation, and safety training delivery, with a focus on reducing risks and ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or 5 years full-time work experience in safety.
• CSP, ARM, CHMM certifications are preferred.
• Experience with incident investigations, OSHA regulations, and safety program development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Conduct safety visits and inspections of ADOT facilities and projects; recommend improvements.
• Develop, maintain and present safety training; communicate safe work practices to employees.
• Identify hazards and provide guidance on safety procedures and risk reduction.
