Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking an OS&D Clerk in Columbus, OH to inspect shipments, validate claims, determine root causes of damage or shortage, and coordinate resolutions with claimants. You will maintain accurate records and support daily operations with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Responsibilities include locating overages/shortages/damage, handling Hazmat freight, and preparing OS&D paperwork. A high school diploma and 1 year of office/ops experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of office and/or operations experience preferred in transportation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; AS400 and SAP experience helpful.
• Experience handling Hazmat materials preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Locate overages, shortages and damaged freight and research and resolve issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Properly handle different types of freight including Hazmat materials.
• Prepare paperwork to process OS&D freight including repackaging OS&D freight as needed.
• Maintain accurate records for reporting OS&D freight daily and weekly.
• Assist with answering telephones and provide superior customer service.
• May also perform customer service duties such as providing quotes, taking orders and answering general customer questions.
