Job summary

Hanger Clinic is seeking a Clinical Resident in Columbus, OH to begin a focused residency in orthotics and prosthetics. You will work under supervision, progressively taking on patient care activities aligned with NCOPE and ABC standards, while receiving extensive clinical training and back-office support.

You will collaborate with rehabilitation team members, assess patients, design and fit prostheses/orthoses, and document medical necessity with high-quality clinical notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or post-graduate Certificate in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid driver's license.
• Preferred: Master's degree and post-graduate Certificate in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patient prosthetic/orthotic needs and discuss treatment options.
• Examine and evaluate patient needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Design prostheses/orthoses and select materials/components.
• Take casts/measurements and prepare layouts for fitting.
• Perform fittings with static and dynamic alignments.
• Evaluate devices for fit, function and efficacy, and adjust as needed.
• Instruct patients on use of prosthesis/orthosis and provide follow-up.
