Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Ocala, FL, is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide independent patient care for off-the-shelf orthoses under indirect supervision of a certified orthotist. The role includes fitting, adjustments and patient education.

You will serve the geriatric community in a clinic with strong clinical support, no on-call requirement, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Current ABC certification as a Fitter or Orthotics is required or eligible.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient's needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
• Perform independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
• Instruct patient in use of orthotic devices.
• Identify and reconcile issues to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
• Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
• Adhere to safety regulations; compliance with Medicare, HIPAA and OSHA.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
