Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide independent patient care for off-the-shelf and prefabricated devices under indirect supervision of a certified orthotist. You will monitor patients, adjust devices for fit and function, and document outcomes in patient records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ABC certification, and a valid driver's license. Training and collaboration with physicians and staff are integral to success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC).

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient's needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
• Perform independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
• Instruct patient in use of orthotic devices.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
• Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
• Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, HIPAA, OSHA and safety regulations.
• Assist other clinical staff as needed.
