Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide independent patient care, fitting off-the-shelf and prefabricated orthoses, while adhering to ABC guidelines and safety regulations.

The role involves educating patients on device use and coordinating with physicians for optimal outcomes. You will work under indirect supervision on projects of moderate complexity and align with regulatory standards, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC) is required or must be eligible to obtain.
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient needs and provide independent patient care for orthotic devices.
• Evaluate orthotic device fit, function and safety and adjust as needed.
• Instruct patients in use of orthotic devices and provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records and assist with reimbursement processes.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance with Medicare, HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
