Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide patient care by fitting and adjusting off-the-shelf and prefabricated orthoses, under indirect supervision where allowed.

You will evaluate devices for fit, teach patients how to use them, and document outcomes in patient records as part of a collaborative care team. Responsibilities include accurate notes, collaboration with physicians and staff for reimbursement, and adherence to safety, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations while delivering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC) is required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient's needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Perform independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic devices for fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
• Instruct patient in use of orthotic devices.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
• Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
