Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in a medical office preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, confidentiality, HIPAA and electronic health record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Acts as the communication center for patient care, location, and activities.
• Enter orders, procedures, labs, and tests for outpatient care as needed.
• Maintain patient demographics and insurance information in scheduling systems.
• Explain basic financial policies, collect copays/deductibles/self-pay.
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required and process charges.
• Generate reports, manage projects, and monitor invoices/expenses.
• Meet age-specific needs of the assigned unit and ensure regular attendance.
