Banner Health in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant for the PBC UC- NH Orthopedics-Clinic. The role involves patient rooming, transcription, handling messages, suture removal assistance, and basic wound care under provider supervision.

The MA will join a supportive team with a career ladder to MA2 or Certified Casting Medical Assistant. Coverage locations may include multiple Banner Health clinics.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Uncertified Medical Assistant may be hired up to 12 months to obtain certification; certification required thereafter.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patient for exam by taking vital signs and documenting symptoms.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures; take BP, temp, respiration; perform phlebotomy and EKG; act as chaperone.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations, scheduling and reporting test results to patients.
• Provide clerical support with medical records, labs, authorizations and billing information.
• Maintain a clean, functional environment; disinfect equipment and follow OSHA guidelines.
• Monitor inventory including medications and immunizations.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with patients and staff; support team within scope of PM.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities, including simulation training as needed.
• Work under direct supervision of providers; prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient care.
