Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaints.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in‑office procedures including phlebotomy and EKGs; acts as chaperone as needed.
• Coordinates and manages patient care including pre‑certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling.
• Provides clerical support and ensures complete medical records for billing.
• Maintains clean and safe exam rooms and equipment; follows OSHA guidelines.
