Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with medical software and EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures and performs phlebotomies, EKGs and related tasks.
• Coordinates care: referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and communicating test results to patients.
• Provides clerical support including medical records, labs, X-rays and billing-related information.
• Maintains clean, disinfected clinical areas and coordinates equipment maintenance.
• Orders supplies and manages stock for patient care areas.
• Develops effective communication with internal/external customers and participates in onboarding/training.
• Interacts with staff and providers to prioritize data and support patient care.
