Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with externship (160 hours) or equivalent clinical experience.
• Current CMA certification or LPN/EMT credentials may be required or advantageous.
• BLS-C certification required upon hire or by end of orientation.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Obtain vital signs and document in the EHR.
• Take patient histories using critical thinking.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered; follow the six rights.
• Document care in the EHR and respond to patient requests timely.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests and basic phlebotomy as needed.
• Coordinate appointments and manage referrals and orders.
