Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Warren is seeking a Medical Assistant - Contingent to support the Motor City Orthopedics team in a day shift. The schedule runs 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, with Tuesdays required and flexibility on other days.

You will greet patients, record vital signs, and prepare for examinations in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Under supervision, you will also administer non-injectable medications, document in the EHR, assist with procedures, and coordinate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with externship (160 hour minimum).
• Alternate: MA program graduate without externship but with 1 year clinical medical assisting experience in past five years.
• Current MA certification with at least one year of clinical experience.
• LPN, Paramedic or EMT may qualify with applicable experience.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to room and prepare for examination, procedure, and treatment.
• Obtain vital signs and record in the EHR.
• Obtain patient history and document in the EHR.
• Prepare for and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols.
• Administer medications per provider orders and document in EHR.
• Document care provided during visits in the EHR.
• Respond to emergencies and monitor patient requests timely.
• Enter orders in the EHR and discharge patients with after-visit instructions.
