Job summary

Henry Ford Health's Rochester campus is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in delivering compassionate patient care. Working under providers and nursing leadership, you will perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You will greet patients, collect histories and vital signs, prepare for exams, assist with procedures, and handle clerical duties to keep the clinical team functioning efficiently, while upholding our standards of patient-centered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with 160-hour clinical externship or one year of clinical medical assisting experience in the past five years.
• Current MA certification with one year of experience, or LPN, or Paramedic/EMT with one year of clinical experience, or military-trained medical personnel with one year of clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or by end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, establishing a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and record patient histories and vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; assist providers as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks to support efficient operation of the clinical team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a 160-hour clinical externship, OR one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years, OR current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification with one year of experience, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/EMT with one year of clinical experience, OR military-trained medical personnel with one year of clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
