Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring a Medical Assistant I for our Orthopedics Clinic. You will support providers by taking vital signs, performing EKGs and phlebotomy, and assisting with routine exams.

The role requires a Medical Assistant credential and BLS, with on-site responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical setting. Immediate full-time opportunity with care team collaboration and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification is required or must be obtained within 3 months.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health must be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and point-of-care tests per clinic standards.
• Prepare and administer injections within scope of practice.
• Assist in routine physical exams and clinical procedures.
• Support with patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
