UHA University Health Associates in Fairmont, WV seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to coordinate and deliver orthopedic patient care in both ambulatory and perioperative settings. The role includes first assisting, evaluating patients, and coordinating discharge planning with the health care team.

The position involves educating residents and nursing students, ensuring high standards of patient care, and adhering to state licensure requirements for WV.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• CNOR Certification.
• BLS Certification required with ACLS as needed.
• APRNs to be privileged as First Assists in perioperative services and CNOR pathway.

Responsabilités

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for orthopedic patients in ambulatory settings.
• Completes daily rounds and pre-procedure evaluations with guidance from orthopaedic faculty.
• Participates in peri-operative procedures including first assisting in operative cases.
• Performs diagnostic tests and communicates results following guidelines.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up in collaboration with care teams.
• Documents care plans and interventions clearly in the medical record.
• Leads education for nursing staff, students, and community on orthopaedic care.
