Job summary

Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a full-time Surgical Coordinator to support scheduling of orthopedic surgeries in Bucks County, PA. The role involves coordinating with hospitals, centers, and physicians, managing pre-authorizations, and ensuring timely, accurate case completion.

The ideal candidate has experience in surgical scheduling, strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of prior experience as Surgical Coordinator or Scheduler.
Experience obtaining surgical pre-authorizations and pre-certifications from insurers.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance authorization processes, and EMR/EHR systems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with hospitals, centers, physicians, and patients.
Coordinate and obtain insurance pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, and required approvals for scheduled procedures.
Verify insurance coverage and communicate requirements to resolve authorization issues and prevent delays.
Communicate with patients and families regarding scheduling, prep instructions, and procedural information.
Verify referrals, insurance requirements, and required surgical documentation before procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR/EHR system and support administrative duties.
