Job summary

Palm Beach Orthopaedic Institute, PA in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Coder to accurately code ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS for orthopedic procedures in a timely manner. Responsibilities include verifying charge information, coordinating with physicians and staff, and appending modifiers as appropriate, using our EMR system.

CPC certification is required; 2 years of orthopedic billing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of orthopedic medical practices and surgical procedures.
• Experience with EMR/EPM systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance plans (HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, Worker’s Comp).
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Code surgical procedures and diagnoses for charges.
• Verify and complete charge information in the database and billing.
• Provide information and reports to physicians and staff on codes.
• Append modifiers when appropriate.
