You will translate clinical details into accurate medical codes to ensure proper billing and records for our orthopedic practice with 16 physicians and 7 mid-levels. The position requires CPC, ICD-10 training, 3+ years in medical coding, CPT/ICD-10 experience, and strong knowledge of healthcare billing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years practical experience in medical coding from charts.
• CPC certification and ICD-10 training/education completed.
• Experience coding CPT and ICD-10 for physicians.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement.
• Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy.
• Well organized with strong attention to detail.
• Good problem solving and computer skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedure billing codes per policies.
• Interact with physicians on billing/documentation rules.
• Enter charges and document activity per standards.
• Review and audit provider billing/documents.
• Educate providers and staff on coding procedures.
• Ensure HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance.
• Follow departmental policies and objectives.
