Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an experienced Level II Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team. The role emphasizes nursing process, coordination of care, and ongoing quality improvement within a patient-centered framework.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an RN license (Virginia or reciprocal state) and BLS.

Qualifications

• RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate the plan of care to health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in care service improvements.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Orient new permanent and temporary staff members.
• Act as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
