Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse in Virginia to deliver patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process. RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state is required, with BSN preferred. AHA BLS certification is needed at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and RN experience.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• BSN is preferred; BLS certification required at hire (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with licensed/unlicensed personnel using the nursing process and teamwork to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team members in care, including discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate plan of care with other health care team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards and improve patient care services.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff members.
• Act as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies for nurses.
• Participate in daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
