Qualifications

• RN license required from Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• BSN preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with health team members.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence in patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality activities.
• Orient new staff members.
• Act as point of contact on policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
