Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse. The RN is responsible for delivering total, patient-centered care using the nursing process in collaboration with the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holds an active Virginia RN license (compact state acceptable), and has 2 years of acute care experience. BSN preferred; BLS and NIHSS required at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Active RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS required at hire.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with health team members.
• Participate in improving patient care services and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff.
• Participate in unit/department/hospital committees for policy and procedure formulation.
• Provide education to patients and caregivers related to the plan of care.
