Job summary

Arlington Orthopedics Associates in Mansfield, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. Primary duties include preparing patients, assisting with casts, bracing, wound care, and maintaining EMR documentation.

The role requires strong communication, organization, ability to follow instructions, and HIPAA compliance. Candidates should have CMA/RMA/CCMA or MA program, high school diploma, CPR certification; orthopedic or 2+ years

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or completion of an accredited MA program preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS) required/preferred.
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visit by directing to exam/X-ray room and providing gowns/drapes.
• Interviews patient and records medical histories; may order X-rays per provider order.
• Assists health care providers during examinations.
• Performs dressing changes, vital signs, blood draws, casts/splints, sutures removal, and lab requests.
• Maintains EMR documentation and updates patient history within 24 hours.
• Schedules appointments, tests, procedures, and surgery following protocols.
• Responds to patient calls and documents communications in EMR.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam rooms; sterilizes equipment.
• Monitors inventory and orders medical supplies.
• Occasional travel between sites may be required.
