Job summary

Arlington Orthopedics Associates seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced musculoskeletal clinic. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with orthopedic procedures such as casting and wound care, and maintain accurate EMR documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CMA/RMA/CCMA preferred, CPR certification, and proficiency in EMR systems. Strong communication, organization, and ability to travel between site locations are

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
MA certification preferred (CMA/RMA/CCMA) or completion of accredited MA program
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems
Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS)
Two years orthopedic experience preferred
Three years medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for visit and assist with examinations and treatments
Interviews patient and records medical histories; may order x-rays per provider
Assist health care providers during examinations as directed
Perform dressing changes, take vital signs, draw blood, apply casts/splints, remove sutures
Prepare and process prescriptions and orders for tests or imaging
Document in EMR and ensure timely updates of patient history
Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures and coordinate follow-ups
Maintain exam rooms and sterilize instruments; manage inventory
