Job summary

Advocate Health in North Wilkesboro, NC, seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Orthopedics team. You will prepare patients, perform lab tests, assist physicians with procedures, and administer routine medications under standing orders in a fast-paced clinic.

The role requires a Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and 1 year of experience preferred. 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers per AHA required
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• 1 year experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assists physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams and testing.
• Administers routine medications under physician orders or standing protocols.
• Facilitates care coordination and referrals as needed.
• Communicates with the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Performs basic clinical support tasks and phlebotomy under supervision.
