Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide orthopedic hand and upper extremity care in a clinic and OR setting. The role includes evaluation, treatment planning, diagnostic orders, and perioperative patient management, with first assist responsibilities in surgeries.

Current NC licensure or eligibility is required, along with DEA registration and BLS certification. This is a full-time position with a 1:4 call rotation and competitive Atrium Health benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current North Carolina licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic hand and upper extremity conditions in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic studies including imaging and laboratory testing.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
• Serve as First Assistant in orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgical procedures.
