Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support a Hand, Wrist & Elbow Surgeon in the clinic and occasionally in the OR as a First Assist. The role requires PA or NP with RNFA certification, 1 year shoulder experience, and PA license (or eligibility) in Pennsylvania.

You will evaluate patients, assist in surgery, order tests, educate patients, and coordinate care with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA Cert.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain).

Responsibilities

Perform initial evaluations of new patients, post-op patients, and follow up patients with supervising physician.
First-assist in surgery and suture wounds; render post-op care.
Order x-rays and review images with supervising physician; order other diagnostic studies.
Educate patients about condition and post-op course/treatment; answer medical questions.
Coordinate patient care with administrative team and communicate with other specialists.
Review diagnostic reports to determine urgent needs and alert patients of urgent results.
